Who We Are

History & Ownership

The history of Petrogas Field Services Limited is connected with Kilimanjaro International (KI) in that Greyson L. Kiondo founded both companies. Incorporated in the United States in 1997 as a Delaware Corporation and registered in Washington, DC as well as in 5 African countries, KI is an established development management consulting and training company. KI's core clients include a vast array of United States, Tanzanian and greater East African Government agencies, businesses, civil society organizations, multinational financial institutions, bilateral development partners, diplomatic missions, and foreign universities. Here are some quick facts:

  1. In 2011, KI engaged the University of California Berkeley to prepare a long term Strategic Plan for KI—resulting in a recommendation to spin off various companies to provide specialized services and products to the various aspects of the energy sector.
  2. In 2013, Petrogas Field Services Limited and four subsidiaries were formed as independent and autonomous Tanzanian companies—separate and distinct from KI. Petrogas Field Services Limited is therefore a spinoff company. KIcontinues independently in its space—international development industry.
  3. KI is an established United States Government prime contractor. Major clients include the Agency for International Development (USAID), Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and the United States African Development Foundation (USADF).
  4. Five indigenous and diasporan Tanzanians wholly own KI.
  5. The owners of both companies are private individuals with no current or past careers in Government or politics.
  6. Company registration and ownership information including shareholder details are available upon request.
  7. Ultimately, Petrogas now enjoys a long and well-established corporate infrastructure of its direct and beneficial owner--KI.
