Naturally therefore, a decade ago Petrogas transitioned out of a manufacturers’ representation business model whereby we used to exclusively promote foreign Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). For instance, Petrogas Field Services Ltd was the Authorized Local Business Partner (LBP) also known as Local Dealer & Distributor of the US-based Emerson Automation Solutions through Emerson FZE for the Tanzanian “market territory”.
Based on our best lessons learned on the ground while serving our customers and stakeholders including the Government and civil society, Petrogas has organically evolved from being a promoter of foreign OEMs to the customer-centric company that we are today. As a result of this strategic decision, Petrogas is well-established in the industry, with an accepted value-proposition and a loyal customer base.
While our offerings incorporate the products, services, and engineered solutions from the world’s renown OEMs including Emerson Automation Solutions, Petrogas is unencumbered, unconflicted, and unrestricted delivering the solution that best fits the customer’s stated need. The Petrogas commitment to customer empowerment not only enhances user satisfaction but also mitigates supply chain risks, ensuring uninterrupted availability even if one OEM experiences a market failure.
It is against this background that Petrogas is now poised to become Tanzania’s industrial manufacturer and supplier of a vast array of products, services, and engineered solutions. These include precision machined components and assemblies such as connectors, fasteners, sealants, fittings, hoses, regulators, washers, accessories, and vehicle conversion kits—all custom-designed to increase the utilization of natural gas in all its various forms particularly Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Liquified Natural Gas (LNG).
More specifically, our upcoming locally manufactured products include different kinds of valves, ring joint gaskets, flange-spacers adaptor spools, hammer unions, cross over connections, dies & inserts, high tensile studs & bolts, metal cutting & machining services, spares for valves, fabrication, welding of structures, repair and maintenance.
The main industries benefiting from our local manufacturing are Oil & Gas, Marine & Shipbuilding, Electrical Power Plants, Air Compressor industries, Refineries & Fertilizer Plants and Contract Manufacturing Services for OEMs and General Engineering.
Engineered to reduce imports thereby deepening and broadening Tanzania’s Local Content, the Petrogas industrial manufacturing output will serve local and export markets throughout the East African Community (EAC) and Southern African Development Community (SADC) member countries.
