Our calibration process entails thoroughly inspecting,
testing and verifying instrument accuracy. We make necessary
adjustments to bring equipment within tolerance and can
identify issues requiring repairs or replacement parts.
After the work is complete, we issue a Certificate of
Calibration for each instrument calibrated, showing details
of the process, instrument condition, calibration results,
adjustments and repairs.
From simple flow measurement systems to elaborate metering
systems, full turnkey projects are also available.
Measurement services are performed according to OEM
procedures utilizing reputable equipment produced by
ISO-certified companies.
Proving
Meter Proving Process.
01
Drain & Flush
Drain end-caps, collect and dispose of oil. Flush internal components and rinse the meter exterior with an appropriate solvent.

Inspect & Test
Visually inspect the instrument to ensure it is free of debris and components operate correctly. Leak test at maximum operating pressure.

Prove the Meter
Apply an additional coat of paint where required. Prove the meter and establish pass or fail status.

Seal & Return
Badge and seal the meter and return it to service. Failed meters are sent for full repair or replacement where necessary.Innovation Is Key

The growing use of ultrasonic metering in pipeline
applications requires high-flow, in-line statistical
proving techniques. Petrogas has mobile master meter
capability that provides the flexibility needed for
high-pressure gas pipeline calibration.
With master meter and SVP technology available, accurate
custody transfer meter proving services can be provided
across high flow rates for Ultrasonic, Coriolis, Positive
Displacement and Turbine meter technologies.
Petrogas meter proving trailers are equipped with modern
in-line Small Volume Provers together with hoses, cables
and electronics, allowing efficient meter proving for
rack designs and delivered products including gasoline,
ethanol, ULSD, biodiesel, fuel oil and jet fuel.

The “A” Service: Independent Audit of Gas Metering System
Petrogas functionality and compliance certification services include onsite visits by experienced technicians who inspect and confirm whether devices and instrumentation meet performance and safety standards, usually without removing them from service. We recommend the A Service annually as a cost-effective way to confirm that equipment is performing as expected and to uncover issues that subsequent services can address.The “B” Service: Mobile Prover Based Calibration & Certification
Incorrect calibration can affect safety, productivity, consumer satisfaction, regulatory compliance and profitability. Petrogas uses approved Master Meters with Portable Flow Computers and Smart Meter Verification capabilities to calibrate gas flowmeters ranging from 1/2″ to 12″, regardless of manufacturer. Our work is certified so you can have confidence that your instruments are measuring accurately.The “C” Service: Repair & Refurbishment
