Our training offerings include turnkey human resource interventions such as competence assessment, talent development and progression tracking. We provide basic to advanced training suited to the types of jobs available in the oil and gas industry, the work conditions and equipment involved, and rudimentary skills such as safety practices, welding, and instrumentation.  This kind of training positions local workers as ready and “pre- fitted” for the oil and gas industry.

Over time, however, in order to reduce their workforce costs, international oil companies will attempt to use local employees for many drilling phase positions and most of the production phase positions, if they are available. Local workforce training programs can serve to filter in local employees that are well suited to the industry, provide them with a basic orientation to the skills required, and steer these workers towards oil and gas industry occupations that are safe, well-paying, and will keep them in the region for the long term.

Petrogas trains rig mechanics, electricians and instrumentation technicians to man the drilling rigs. These rig mechanics will eventually rise to rig roustabout, drillers and rig superintendents. Skills such as high-temperature-high-pressure pipe welding and heavy plant operation,
petroleum geosciences, petroleum geophysics, petroleum geochemistry, petroleum engineering, energy economics and modeling, accounting and auditing, licensing and contracting, revenue management and environmental management. Other skills include pipe fitting, plant air-conditioning, electricians, and boiler mechanics for construction and running of the oil and gas pipelines and processing plants.
