Relevant Courses. Skilled Personnel. On Demand

Petrogas has a long history of providing training for every skill level of the oil and gas, ports and marine, power-generation, mining, and renewable energy industries. We are fully capable of both customized training of key individuals and small teams, as well as large-scale training of entire groups of workers. Our services range from training needs and task analysis to curriculum development and courseware materials preparation and creation.

Our focus is on preparing your employees and contract staff to be an effective, efficient team fully versed in your industry’s best practices. Beneficiaries of our trainings include:

  •  All levels of management and leaders from the executive suite to the board-room

  • Professionals such as lawyers, economists, finance specialists, accountants, HR, and more.

  • Engineers and skilled technicians (electricians, plumbers/HVAC, welders, mechanics, etc.)

Our training offerings include competence assessment, talent development, and progression tracking. We’ve developed our courses to be complete in their content, but also customizable to your specific needs, which ensures your staff/contractors are fully “pre-fitted” for the right job.

We provide basic to advanced training suited to the types of jobs available, the work conditions, and specific equipment involved. This involves common rudimentary skills (such as safety practices,  instrumentation, and more); as well as highly specialized training (such as local welders trained for high-pressure pipe welding, and field workers trained in drill operation). Our training encompasses tasks and procedures necessary to successful operations across the entire industry e.g. from exploration and extraction to transfer, delivery, and sales.

Onsite or Offsite

For many skills, we can train workers onsite at your localation. This means you can hire locally, and very quickly have a skilled workforce that can do the jobs you need done. We have expert trainers from across Africa and around the globe that will work with your people as long as necessary.

In addition, for skilled technical disciplines and specific management roles, we can provide offsite, hands-on training at partner facilities and offices across the world including Africa, Europe and the United States. Only the “best of the best” get the Petrogas seal of approval.

Training is the cornerstone of maximum sustainability, availability, and operational excellence. Training government employees, national oil company staff, regulators, and a localized workforce benefits everyone. When the local community shares in the benefits industry brings (in the form of jobs and environment-friendly infrastructure), they welcome companies.

Conversely, NOT hiring/training local personnel can lead to a myriad of issues. Not only are government officials and local workers less skilled, but companies who import large scale workforces do not foster localized acceptance. In short, they are seen as outsiders, which makes doing business in the local environment much harder.

More and more, local communities and government entities will insist on localized workforces (even for IOCs) with good reason. Local workforce training programs can serve to filter in local employees that are well suited to the industry, provide them with both basic orientation and specific skills, and steer these workers towards industry occupations that are safe, well-paying, and will keep them in the region for the long term.

Petrogas has been spearheading this initiative for a decade.
